NEED ANALYSIS
TARGETING PORTS AND SHIP OWNERS
About the service
Why use this service:
To get an estimate on the potential cost reduction, increase of revenue and CSR profile.
What is the service:
a) Historic traffic analysis: Classifies the historic traffic and emissions and also classifies the different vessels and estimates their emissions in ports.
b) Specific emissions studies on target vessels or group of vessels, This service gathers all information needed to do a specific emission analysis, and thus the reduction potential in cost and emissions by switching to another fuel in port/ at sea. Estimated time is 10-100 hours depending on information about vessel and routes
c) Future traffic short term (0-5) years, this analyse gives a prognosis on traffic development based on the developments plans and traffic development of the port and nearby area.
d) Future traffic long term (5-25) years, this analyse gives a prognosis on traffic development based on the developments plans and traffic development of the port and nearby area.
CLIMATE AND ENERGY PLAN
TARGETING PORTS AND CITIES
About the service
Why use this service:
The service offers to create or revise a climate and energy plan for a city or municipality.
What is the service:
The goal for climate and energy planning according to national planning guidelines for climate and energy planning is to implement measures that give results in terms of reduced greenhouse gas emissions. Most municipalities have one climate and energy plan, but many municipalities started to roll these plans. This is an opportunity to evaluate and initiate new measures. Here you will find information that may be of use for municipal climate and energy planning, regardless of where in the planning process you area including measures for ports.
ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS
TARGETING PORTS
About the service
Why use this service:
To get an estimate on the potential cost reduction, increase of revenue, CSR profile and conflicts with citizens.
What is the service:
a) Potential in emission reduction by electrification of the port. A full analysis of the total emission potential from the port activity, with recommendation for upgrades and plans for future upgrades
b) Renewable energy potential in the port; A service that maps the potential of renewable energy in the port, with recommendations for installations c) Environmental hazards in port; A service mapping the potential hazards in the port and there risk profile.
ECONOMIC ANALYSES SHIP / PORT
TARGETING PORTS AND SHIP-OWNERS
About the service
Why use this service:
To get an estimate on the potential cost reduction, increase of revenue and CSR profile
What is the service:
a) Economic gain by optimize the energy and administration in ports. A service for energy optimization for port and ship-owners at docking in ports. The report will give an action plan to implement technology that can reduce the usage of energy in port, what the cost is, payback time, yearly reduction in cost and increase revenues.
b) Reduction potential of administrations cost with EPR systems. A service for economical optimization for port and ship-owners at docking in ports. The report will give an action plan to implement technology that can optimize administration and human capital, in port, what the cost is, payback time, yearly reduction in cost and increase revenues.
SECURITY AND SAFETY PROCEDURES (ISPS)
TARGETING PORT AND PORT FACILITIY
About the service
Why use this service:
The service is intended to be used by ports to establish security measures to mirror and meet the ship’s security measures. Port staff need training and exercises to be rewarded to participate in the ISPS and to promote their function.
What is the service: The service consists of multiple sub-services, like Port Facility Security Assessment (PFSA), Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP) according to the international ISPS code provided by IMO. Audits, training and annual exercises are included in this service. For port owners the service include preparing/auditing Port Security Assessment (PSA) and Port Security Plan (PSP), audits, training and annual exercise as well.
MARINE TERMINAL INFORMATION SYSTEM
TARGETING PORTS
About the service
Why use this service:
The service offers good practice in connecting ship/shore regarding HSE regulation.
What is the service:
Over the past 3 years, OCIMF has developed the MTIS system with the aim of filling the gaps that exist in the international standards for terminals and also that would complement the similar work already being done by OCIMF and its members to improve ship safety and environmental protection. Specifically, the consolidated system embraces:
- Marine Terminal Particulars Questionnaire (MTPQ)
- Marine Terminal Management and Self-Assessment (MTMSA)
- Marine Terminal Operator Competence & Training (MTOCT)
a) Vessel inspections are reviewed by using SIRE inspection process
b) Improved operational efficiency through better matching of terminal and ships
c) Improved effectiveness and efficiency with better dissemination of terminal information
d) A rigorous, self-assessment and review based approach to the continous improvement of safety management
e) Better trained and motivated staff f) A secure process that is owned and managed by the terminal operators who retain full control over their data
ENVIRONMENTAL SHIP INDEX (ESI)
TARGETING PORTS AND SHIP-OWNERS
About the service
Why use this service:
The service is intended to be used by ports to reward ships when they participate in the ESI and will promote clean ships, but can also be used by shippers and ship owners as their own promotional instrument. ESI will provide a total score, the rewards can either be based on that total or on each of its constituent parts separately.
What is the service: The procedures for auditing the Ship’s Data that have been provided by Data Providers (Ship Owners) and that are used to calculate the ESI Scores. The audits are in the form of administrative checks of data provided and/or on board ship or in office inspections of data provided including documents pertaining thereto. Hafenstrom as an Incentive Provider (IP) will be granted the right to audit the data that are used to calculate the ESI scores of vessels that have been or will be included in the incentive program of that IP. For that purpose the IP may select a person (auditor) with a sound knowledge of and experience at inspections of sea-going vessels; after selection the auditor is authorized by the ESI Administrator to perform audits. Further details on the procedure for the execution of audits are included in the Incentive Provider’s part of ESI web site.
