Asbjørn Hovstø received his MSc in Project Administration, Henley Business School and having more than 30 years of experience in European projects with main interest in Intelligent Transport Systems, Health, Security & Safety, Biometrics, Wireless Sensor Technology and Smart grids, Smart cities. He was work package leader of Requirements in VICINITY2020 project.

Having certification as Recognised Security Organisation for seaports he has been working with security and privacy questions for the last 20 years in digital signature schemes, protection profiles and legal entities. He has participated in several EU funded projects like MDG09 Health Message Developments, NETCARDS, BIOHEALTH, VICINITY and GIFT. He has been a member of CEN-CENELEC-ETSI Smart and Sustainable Cities and Communities Coordination Group and was appointed Project leader European Innovation Partnership (EIP).

Today, he is mirror group leader for NEK SC41 IoT and related technologies, information security of ISO/IEC JTC1/SC27 and certified Information Security Management (ISO 27001).
