Manuela Freté graduated on University of Sussex (UK) and Sciences Po Paris (FR) with specialisation on International Relations with French and Spanish, and European Affairs. Manuela has broad experience from management and participation in H2020 and FP7 European projects on topics such as food waste, circular economy, sustainable extraction of raw materials and green ICT.
She has led the policy work package of REFRESH project with 26 partners and a budget of 9 mill. € (2014-2019) addressing Action Plan for policy change of food waste. She also led the dissemination work package of FUSIONS project with 21 partners and a budget of 5 mill. € (2012-2016) supporting the organisation of sixteen Regional Platform meetings and three EU platform meetings on food waste. She has also contributed to the projects EU COBALT (2013-2015) and ICTFOOTPRINT.EU (2016-2019). She is a Romanian native and speaks French C1, English C1, Spanish C2, Arabic A2.
He has been awarded with Norwegian Computing Society “Årespris” (Prize of honor) for 2005, Computer World’s “Golden Mouse Honor Prize” for contributions to the norwegian computer industry and the work on Network Computers 1998, IEEE Centennial Medal for contributions to computer industry and research 1984, Elected member of the Norwegian Academy for Technical Sciences 1978, Norwegian Technological and Industrial Institute (NTNF): Honor Prize 1976, Appointed full Professor in Computer Science at the Norwegian Technical University 1969.
