A total of €188 million in EU funding is available under call HORIZON-CL5-2026-01 that covers 3 Destinations and 16 topics:
- Cross-sectoral solutions for the climate transition (HORIZON-CL5-2026-01-D2)
- Clean and competitive solutions for all transport modes (HORIZON-CL5-2026-01-D5)
- Safe, Resilient Transport and Smart Mobility services for passengers and good (HORIZON-CL5-2026-01-D6).

Background
Horizon Europe is the EU’s ambitious research and innovation programme for 2021-2027, with a budget of €95.5 billion. CINEA runs parts of the programme targeting energy, climate action and mobility research actions, grouped into Cluster 5.
The overarching driver for this cluster is to accelerate the twin green and digital transitions and associated transformation of our economy, industry and society with a view to achieving climate neutrality in Europe by 2050, and to increase the competitiveness of the European economies.

What are the requirements for applying?
The requirements for submitting a project proposal are detailed in the relevant documents published on the individual call page.
The submitted proposals are evaluated by independent experts drawn from the European Commission’s database of external evaluators. Applicants will receive the evaluation results at the latest five months after the submission deadline. Grant agreements will be signed with the successful applicants within eight months after the submission deadline.
